Once a month we are offering this Yin Yang Yoga class with all proceeds going to our local ‘Dorking Area Foodbank’ charity. Run in partnership with local churches, the Dorking Area Foodbank is a registered charity and aims to ‘help local people in crisis’. Staff and volunteers work together to distribute food and necessary provisions to individuals and families that need help at different times. As payment for the class, please feel free to make a donation to support the work of the Foodbank (suggested between £5-£10) and help keep Dorking working better together.

Class description: Yin Yang Yoga blends two styles of Yoga, combining the benefits of passively holding Yoga poses with more dynamic sequences and standing postures. The class is open to people with all levels of Yoga experience as the teacher will be giving options for modification and seeking to adapt the movements to the needs of the individual.

We'll start by warming and energising, as we progressively work through a mindful dynamic and flowing Yang Asana (posture) practice. That will help to build muscle strength, energy fluidity and develop your flexibility and spatial awareness. In the Yin portion, we'll slow things right down, tapping into restorative and meditative principles of Yin, focusing on stillness and calm. Postures are passively held for longer periods helping to free connective tissue, while directing energy around the main meridian pathways. The two practises combined will help you to reset and rebalance. 

Price: There is no set fee for this class, please donate what you can afford between £1 and £16 by purchasing the Foodbank Donation Pass once logged into your online account.  All donations will be used to support the charitable aims of Dorking Area Foodbank.

Class location: The Barn, Denbies Wine Estate, Bradley Lane, Dorking, Surrey, RH5 6AA. Follow signs for SHP Health. 

Class instructions: 
  • We have mats and props available for you to use in “The Studio”. You’re very welcome to bring your own mat and props with you if you prefer. 
  • Please bring a water bottle and towel with you to class.
  • Please bring a blanket or extra layer for any relaxation phase of the class. 
  • Please arrive in your exercise wear ready for the class.
  • Please check in with reception before your class. 
  • We have hand sanitiser available for your use.
  • Shoes are not permitted to be worn in “The Studio”. There is space in reception to leave shoes and any bags, etc. 
  • If taking your phone into 'The Studio', please have this set to silent. 
  • Please do not park in the Denbies Farm Shop car park or block the Farm Shop delivery door.
