Retreat description: Our ‘My Space’ Retreat Day marks a seasonal pause - a proactive transition into autumn and a preparation for the coming of winter, inspired and guided by Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a complete holistic system of understanding the body - steeped in more than 2000 years of wisdom, practical study, and observation. Taken from the Sanskrit words Ayur meaning “study of” and Veda meaning “life” it quite literally translates as a blue print for how to live our healthiest and happiest life. 

Led by Helen Barcellona (experienced Physiotherapist, Pilates Instructor and Director of SHP Health) and with author and founder of The Ayurveda Coach (theayurvedacoach.com), Claire Paphitis, as our expert guest and guide. 

Helen will start the day with an energising yet gentle combination of Pilates and Yoga, allowing some time for workshopping of key movements for keeping strong and healthy in winter months. After a special brunch at the Vineyard Hotel next door, Claire will then be introducing us to the key principles of Ayurveda and how to use it to boost our digestion, energy, and immunity. Claire also has some take-away recipe cards to help you kick start your journey into exploring Ayurveda at home and nourishing yourself during this season. 

As a classically trained musician, Reiki energy and sound healer, Claire will then close the Retreat with one of her signature soothing Sound Baths using a mix of guided meditation, voice, and crystal sound bowls. Expect to leave the day feeling totally relaxed and rejuvenated.

Class instructions: 
  • We have mats and props available for you to use in “The Studio”. You’re very welcome to bring your own mat and props with you if you prefer. 
  • Please bring a water bottle and towel with you to class. You may also wish to bring along a pair of trainers and layers/waterproof for the vineyard walk. 
  • Please arrive in your exercise wear ready for the class.
  • Whilst no longer mandatory, we still have hand sanitiser available for your use.
  • Whilst masks are no longer required you are more than welcome to wear one as you enter and leave “The Studio”.
  • Shoes are not permitted to be worn in “The Studio”.
  • If taking your phone into 'The Studio', please have this set to silent.
